Hi Friends...Welcome to my personal page PEARLHUNTER. This is where I showcase whatever's important to me at any given time.

Today's obsession is the 2004 movie version of Phantom of the Opera. The ending wasn't the "right" ending, so (as a vidder at heart), I created my own ending and love story.  To the right is the video.

The music is Evanescence's "My Last Breath," and the characters are portrayed by Gerard Butler as the Phantom and Emmy Rossum as Christine Daae. There is no Raoul in this version. Rather, the premise of the video is as follows:

Christine falls in love with the masked Phantom who has captured her heart and taught her to sing. Shunned by all of society since his childhood, he doesn't
believe she can love the man beneath the mask. She professes her unending
love by telling him she sees beyond appearance. Entranced in her touch, he
doesn't realize she's unmasked him until it's too late. Exposed and vulnerable,
he goes into a tyrade and abandons her.

She retreats, heartbroken, to pray in the White Forest.  He hears her prayers
and finds her. Through flashbacks, she shows him that the scars don't matter to her... it's his own unacceptance of his appearance that is His Phantom

She says, "Don't be afraid" and tells him that she's dreamt of being with him
forever.  He calls her bluff by proposing (afterall, why would she want to be with "this" for eternity). She accepts his ring without hesitation, and he is overcome.
(I'm a Joss Whedon fan, so there's always a twist at the end)
